Time to process & ongoing work
Hi all,
My wife and I are currently working on 417 visas in Sydney. My Wife's company have started the ball rolling on sponsoring her for a PR visa, which I think is ENS 856. I'm not 100% clear on the details, but she's apparently applying for an interim TR visa, possibly 458? Does this sound feasible/likely?
She's been with this employer by way of an agency for five weeks (they've now 'bought' her out of the agency agreement and employ her direct), so I imagine under the terms of our 417 she can work there for a further eight weeks before requiring either DIMIA approval to continue, and/or this interim TR work visa. The company have engaged the services of a migration agent for the paperwork.
Are DIMIA likely to complete the processing of said TR visa (assuming no problems) within eight weeks, and if not, would this be the sort of circumstance under which they would grant an extension to the 417 3month restriction?
Does it take longer to process a PR visa application, and does anyone have any ideas on how long?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Alex
