Default Time to process application

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and wondered if anyone had any idea of how long processing takes.
My story so far is.
1) found an agent,

2) lodged application to TRA

3) points raised and panic

4) My agent contacts TRA and asks if they can give positive result in a day.

5) next day get positive result (total time with TRA 2 weeks) 7/4/2004

6) Agent contacts immigration to see if they will accept a faxed application initialy so I can beat the 14/4/04 points deadline.

7) immigration agree, application lodged 13/04/04, In by the skin of my teeth.

8) All necessery paperwork sent to back up application.

Now just the wait for the next event, anyone had any experience of how long this takes.

By the way it's for a skilled indipendant 136 visa.

Can't wait to go to NSW, hope someone can answer,

THanks
Ady

When DIMIA respond they will state 50 weeks, from around 6 months onwards you may get medicals and police checks requested, although it could take as long as a year. It's very hard to give an estimate as there are so many variables. It may be best to assume a year, if it's quicker it's a bonus. it's hard but you're better to just forget about and try to stay off this forum until you get the med requests otherwise I think you'll just be punishing yourself with the waiting. Although it's easier said than done.
