The scientists in the Australian Antarctic Division, but it's also too cold for them to sit out at night.

I don't. Well there was one fly around a few months ago, haven't seen him (or her) for a while now though.

I am in Connolly, a far northern suburb of Perth and we haven't encountered many of either since we arrived. A few but they can be dealt with by using a bug zapper and citronella candles.

You could live near me and not get bitten - they're too busy biting me and would leave you alone! This has been the worst summer for mossie bites for me and we're nowhere near an inlet, swamp or river.

No flies during the day here, well there is when you bring out some food but no worse than a pesky wasp buzzing around in the UK. We are north brisssy but we did visit friends down in Springfield Lakes one summer and the flies were horrible, could have just been a bad day but they were everywhere, trying to crawl into your mouth as soon as you opened it, just really disgusting.

We had fly screens on every window when we moved into this house and to be honest we have taken them all down as we don't need them, mossies are not really an issue either, perhaps we are just lucky..

I'm not surprised as Mandurah has been built on a swamp!

Mosquitos not a big problem where I live. Flies can be an issue from late November to early January - this summer was pretty bad, other summers have not been.

Yup, there are mossies (and they love me) but they are easing up now and the weather is so nice I have dusted off the spiders on the mountain bike and just half-killed myself on a hour's circuit.

Winter here, love it. I suffer summer for this, time to get the chainsaw out and chop some logs.
