Time frames?
OK I know this has probably been covered already a million times, but please bear with me:
If someone sends their application to Adelaide, without any fast-tracking, what are the time estimates as to how long it is taking for PR visas to be granted?
Is the reason some people are waiting 18-20 months because their applications were lodged at AHC in London, and those applications are taking longer than ones sent in after Nov 2001 to Adelaide?
My understanding from looking at the relevant Australian sites here and in Oz is that the current estimate is around 12 months, give or take a few months.
Please can anyone confirm this or correct me if I'm wrong?
Many thanks, Maria

Re: Time frames?
Hello Maria.
I think you've got the timeframes and the background to the London/Adelaide situation about right.
You can speed up the visa processing time to about 6 months by looking at a State Nominated Independent visa, but that's only if you are planning a move to SA or Victoria and have an occupation that is on their In Demand List.
Best regards.

Re: Time frames?
Many thanks Alan, a friend of mine will be very pleased to hear that.
Cheers,
Maria
Just out of interest, do you know if the 12 month period is likely to be perhaps a bit shorter, without an STNI?
Cheers,
