Default Thunderstorms - Illawarra/Sydney

Hi there! Bit of a random musing here but:

I love a good old electrical storm and have been hoping that when we move to Oz they might be a more regular occurance!?
I expect they are quite regular in Queensland, but we have now decided on Sydney - does Sydney get them much?

I think Sydney get's some corkers, mostly in Summer like SE Qld - although I don't think there have been many in Syd this year. If you like storms, SE Qld is definitely the place for you!

Yea - some crackers here in the Illawara. Never having lived beside the sea before, I love watching the storms move out over the ocean because you can see the whole storm cell uninterupted by buildings or the landscape.

Yeah, they are great until it hits YOUR house, or like happend to us, hits the tree next door which explodes and blows holes in their fibro house like a bomb has gone off.

It hit our house in UK, and I thought lightening did not strike twice!

My advice, get a brick house.

Def get some crackers here... it's good because you get them over the sea and on the mountains and you can see them moving about.
