Default Thunderbird Park

We've just booked 3 nights camping at Thunderbird Park, just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for things to do (other than chill out with a nice glass of wine!)

You can go thunderegg fossicking, although it's a bit pricey. There's an outdoor adventure place there too, you know - harness up and go on flying foxes and stuff. There is also horse riding available.

There are rock pools to have a look at, really lovely.

Up the road you can do the rainforest skywalk.

There's gallery walk with lots of little shops and cafes just a short drive away.

Plenty of wineries to look around too.

The park itself is great for camping I think. Plenty of space and you can have a fire! Which you need, it's absolutely freezing up here

yey!! thunderbird park is fab for relaxing We've been there 2 times. I will tell you though, the thunder egg mining thing is well expensive and a bit un-exciting -IO! but the horse riding was fab for our daughter, cheaper and they saw a tree snake.

love it though, get the fire going and a glass of wine...mmmmm

If you go to Gallery Walk (the main tourist street of Mount Tamborine) I can recommend a great restaurant. As you are travelling down the main street turn right at the roundabout and about 5 shops down you will find "3 nations" restaurant. It is run by a Dutch family and is where the Tamborine locals eat (according to the ladies at the hand made chocolate shop).

Was there a few weeks ago and the food was very tasty (try the home made apple pie), great value and awesome service in a lovely spot with heaters on the wooden decks.

eg. my son spilt his small glass of milk over himself and the floor - they appeared immediately to clean it, and him, up and then a few minutes later they brought a huge free strawberry milkshake out for him in case he was upset!!!!

Thanks for that, the wineries in particular! Think I might check out the horseriding too.

We checked when we booked and campfires are allowed but jeez we've just moved over from Scotland so we'll be scaring the locals in our bikinis and flip flops!.......................spot the tourists!

The horseriding was well worth it. My boy was only 6 at the time and really really enjoyed himself. I think it was 30 minutes, I forget the price but it was cheaper than the fossicking or the adventure park!

There is also a little distillery up here that does the most delicious liqueurs and vodkas. Not cheap though.

Here's a couple of links for things:

Thanks guys I'll let you know how we get on.

I've had a look online, but its nice though to get a few personal recommendations.

Just wondering now how we're going to fit everything (and everyone!) in the car!
