How do you compare the crime rate in Australia with other Asian cities such Singapore or Hong Kong

I live in Singapore and I can go out any time (even night time) without fear being victimized by bad guys. Robbery is very, very rare. Bulgrary is not common, even though there are cases now and then.

Can anybody who has ever lived in Singapore and Australia give comments?
