Re: Thoughts on taking dogs
Bring your dog, you'll miss him like hell if you don't. We brought our 11 year old Border Collie cross and he was fine....lasting another 6 years before he died.
Dog ownership is common here, but walking your dog less so here  I still miss my long cool Woodland walks with a dog off leash....but have found substitutes. As I said BRING THE HOUND!....he sounds wonderful  Jan |

Sounds like you're doing all you can - and what you suggest about an immune flareup makes a lot of sense! I didn't realise water was the main source for lepto, will have to make sure our lab stays out of the lake.
Fingers crossed you get it all sorted asap! Definitely keep your lab out of the lake!! I also read somewhere that lepto thrives more in stagnant water which would make sense as it's a bacteria. Ru managed to contract it and ge was always swimming in rivers but that was on a daily basis. But where he is staying now until I get him is a dock basin, so similar issue. When are you heading this way? |
Re: Thoughts on taking dogs
Satch (our lab) is not really all that fussed about water so keeping her out of the lake won't be too much of a problem.
We're hoping to come over this year, (October would be brilliant) but we'd also like one of us to have a job first if we can - or else one of us may need to go ahead in advance while the other keeps working here :( |
