For those who have moved after 1st Jan 2009
Hello Everybody,
I would like to know from people who have moved to AUS permanently after 1st Jan 2009,
did you'll manage to find jobs/work, also how long did it take?
Would like to know from everybody, but more from people in the field of IT (Infrastructure).
Please reply.
Regards,

hi we arrived 8th jan and work is hard to come by, OH has applied for loads all over and nothing.
Licensing is a nightmare if people cant help you they ignore you and dont return your calls no matter how much you try and leave messages. (generalisation I know, but this is whats happened to us)
Its early days but we cant afford to break into our savings to pay to live so seriously considering going back, in hindsight wish we had stayed in the UK, but kids arent to keen now they have settled, but we have sold up and here we are.
If I had my time over again and knew this was going to happen not sure we would have sold up and left.

If you have a look at the few threads that are going at the moment re jobs/unemployment, you will find that there are lots of people struggling at the moment, including people who have been here a lot longer than 2 months.
Have you tried posting on the IT part of the Jobs forum? You may get some more specific responses there.

Same here - loeft UK on 13 Jan and still no work although there seems to be some small potential, but we're not there yet. It is hard and the recession is proof that businesses are nervous of what may come and thus err on the side of caution...

Well I have been here a while, but started a new job in IT Infrastructure on 1 December. We now have a recruitment freeze though, so guess things are getting tougher....
