Spoke to Golden Arrow this morning and Byford Quarantine Kennels in Perth are fully booked for the next 3 months!! Not good news for us as we're travelling at the latest end of March . We'll have to make other arrangements for them until they can travel so we'll be without them for at least 2 months instead of 1 . We couldn't book before now as we had no idea when we'd be travelling .

So, anyone who's going soon, better get your booking in quick .

We are in the same boat, we fly out on the 16th March not sure yet when Jess will follow, Golden Arrow applied for her import permit last week and have asked for it to be faxed back to them just to speed it up a few days and then they can book her in at Byford, but think it could be middle/end of april before there is space, so could be a while until we see her.

So for those of you taking your pets get them booked in ASAP.

Sorry it's happened to you too . I think Byford should think of extending their facilities in line with all these increases in immigrants (and their mutts)

Thanks for the heads up. We are leaving the last week of June and we were hoping our golden (maddie) would only be in quarentine for the month of July. So I'll get everything done as soon as we receive our visas (hopefully within 3 weeks) she's had all the blood tests but we haven't sent for the permit yet. BTW how much does the permit cost in AU$ I heard it was over $250.00 is that correct?

our dog was in the lovely care of golden arrows too.... great service! we are in Briz.... and our dog had to be in quarantine in Sydney as we dont have one in Qld. we then had him tranported by air via airpets. I dont know if you plan on visiting ure dog whilst he/she is in quarantine..... we didnt our harry is quite clingy to me and felt that he would be more traumatised if we kept visiting.

What im getting at... would it be possible you could use another quarantine station? then fly him to you in perth....

The application fees for the permit is $280.00. Thanks for the info about the quarantine in Byford. We are planning on taking our cat when we move to Perth. Hopefully we'll be leaving in about 3 months so fingers crossed there will be space then. We still don't have our visa so don't know exact dates yet so can't book the quarantine yet. My cat will have to do more than the required 30 days quarantine 'cause I didn't know that they had to have the RNATT test 6 months before leaving so have just had it done now. If we do go in 3 months he'll have to spend 3 months in quarantine
Good luck to you and your pets! Trying to take them over is a real palava!

Thanks so much for that info!

We are planning Mid-April for our 4 cats and black lab, so will make the necessary calls tomorrow to get the ball rolling!

Wow! Who wants to start a kennel business in Perth?

UhOh we're going June/July as well, there's a few of us at that time, so I'm sure it'll book up quickly as well. We'll book it as soon as the visa's come in.

Hi,

Just to let you know that we have had a call from Golden Arrow today and our dog will be flying out on the 16th April, thats is the earliest that they can get her in to Byford.
So we have 2 months without her
