Things are getting there
Spent most of the day packing our stuff we are shipping with Excess Baggage as only taking personal stuff. Had numerous friends round to look through stuff we are not taking.
Completion on the house is the 12th September. Finish work on the 7th November and then the real fun starts.
We have decided as we do not need to arrive in Oz until 23rd May 2004 to take some time out. We are flying to Egypt for 2 weeks on the 21 Nov then returning to the UK to fly to Dubai for a couple of days then onto Bombay (I think possibly Madras) for 1 month then into Sri Lanka for 1 month (fantastic as will be at the hotel where we got married for our first wedding anniversary). Then we head to Bangkok for 1 month travel through Thailand and Malaysia to connect with our final flight from Singapore to Melbourne. For the price of 530 pounds one way each!!!!
I don't know what I am more excited about the migration or the extended holiday. I have driven hubby mad by buying all the travel guides to each place so I can research the trip.
The only downside is we are unable to take much in the way of luggage as we are only taking rucksacks so will have to hold off shipment until mid november so we can put in all the odds and ends.
Anyway off out for a well earned drink after 4 hours of packing up the house today!!

It is for the whole trip minus egypt. It is a one way fare with emirates for an extra 100 you can do a stop in the maldives aswell. You are able to do any combination as long as you do not back track on any emirates or sri lankan route.
The fare is 454 plus tax for our combination the tax is estimated at 80. Got the deal from bridge the world.com
Oh and that was leaving UK around 22 Nov.

I think it will depend on how much we can stuff into the container the more we have left the more important the luggage allowance of 64 k via the USA is. But I do like the sound of your itinerary. Did you choose or were the stops suggested by Emirates/tour operate.

As we are going for such a long time well 3 months + travelling and from experience we do not want to be lugging too much stuff about with us and also will need room for anything we buy on our travels. We would be allowed the normal 20K.
I suggested the itinerary and the agent came back and said it was possible with emirates. I am more than happy to fly with them as they are one of the best airlines.
