Okay I have the tax name sorted out ' Not Ordinarily Resident'. Just need to complete the Inland revenue forms.

Any suggestions of last minute things to organise and who to notify would be greatly appreciated.

I say last minute, there are still 11 weeks and two days to go.....but whose counting!!

Tell the child benefit office, although I've met a few people over here who have conveniently forgotten to do this - naughty.

cancel all contracts

white goods etc.
telephone
utilities
mobile phone
car insurance (get a letter confirming no claims bonus)
house insurances
bank standing orders paying the above including council tax
cable tv or satellite contract
membership to any clubs that cost you monthly

send back rubbish mail with moved and gone away return to sender on them (cuts down on mail needing to be redirected)
arrange post box in australia over the net (they are scarce in some towns with waiting lists)
organise post to be sent on by Post office when you go
have a garage sale with your 'unwanted bits and pieces' even for comic relief or the like
make sure you have e-mail addresses for all your friends and acquaintances - so you can send a bulk e-mail of change of address and possibly change of e-mail address when you are in australia
Buy some Nu-skin (if you have children) it is difficult to buy in oz

Thats a start - with probably lots more to come

If it's a Nokia you'll find lots of people who will unblock it for a fee. Other makes I'm not so sure of. The card is called a SIM (subscriber identity module).

Sorry to be a bit dense, I was just going to bin it. !!
