Are these things compatible
Hi all
We are just finishing packing the last few boxes and deciding what to take and what to leave.
Can anyone tell me if the following things will work in Oz.
We have a load of energy saving light bulbs, will they work.
Also telephones, is it worth taking them?? Especially I have a cordless walkabout phone with answerphone and I would quite like to take that.
Any ideas anyone??
Thanks

Have a look at Tim Sorrells web site at http://emigrate.hotshopping.com.au/
Lots of very useful info.

Not sure about the light bulbs (but isnt Oz 220-240V 50Hz? then they should be fine)
As for cordless phones, I dont think you can take them as this kind of thing needs type approval. Same goes for most radio transmitting equip (like CBs, Ham Radio etc)
Try aqis www.aqis.gov.au althought the "What can I take" link was broken when I just checked.

Sun Dials are definitely not compatible if you are bringing one from the northern
hemisphere (As we found out the other day).
Gday.

PS Just turn it upside down and you'll be fine.
