Yes you will miss everything associated with football. Even though you can get the premiership on fox it's just not the same....... matchday excitment, newspapers full of football reports, football chat at work............

not that I'm aware of, not for adults, if there is, there is no mention of the results in the papers.

You could play for queensland Roar, they are pretty amateur.

There will be plenty of teams for you to choose from.
What level do you play at ?
For a Suburb... City .... Region, or just a knock about Sunday League ?

Football is the most played sport in Australia now.
I know in my local area, the Northern Subs of Melbourne, there are probably 40 or more teams to choose from.
Looks from that Brisbane site, that there are 16 different divisions in the SEQ area. Thats the Adult leagues.
Tip for god sake, dont think your going to come here and set the world on fire. I've seen so many new UK migrants come unstuck thinking that, that I just had to mention it.
Lots of Italians and Croatians may put you right on that one.

In 2006, a survey of children aged 5–14 years who participated in organised sport outside school hours revealed:
The organised sports that attracted most boys were :
22.9% Soccer (Outdoor 19.6% and Indoor 3.3%)
13.8% Australian Rules football
7.9% Rugby League
The combined "Aust Rules and League" is 21.7%, slightly less than soccer.

There are an endless amount of clubs to play for. In terms of junior players football leaves the other codes for dead.
And as previously stated the standard is a lot higher than you would expect.
