Rounding up - I bought my first (new) house some 45 years ago and it had electrical outlets all over the place. perhaps not quite as many as we are used to in the modern world nowadays, but not as I see around me now. I have just spent another half hour trying to find a suitable extension to plug a phone charger into - without success. I repeat - pathetic is the only way to describe it.

Yeah they look pretty decent. Doesn't really matter to me though cos I have a wireless broadband router and a cordless phone. I just like to whinge about it

Indeed it is. Wouldn't be without one.

Just signed up for Bigpond wireless to use on oyur travels actually. It's a bit slow on CDMA (slow than I'm used to at least) but I haven't connected to EV-DO yet.

Digital telephones? do Oz have them? no need for telephone socket however you still need an electric socket so may not be a better option if you don't have to many of those either.
