Have a look at www.fantasticfurniture.com.au or www.ikea.com.au. Also Google Sydneys Furniture and Amart.

If you're happy with 2nd hand stuff then www.ebay.com.au or gumtree.

Good luck.

Is the pope a catholic? Lots of 'dollar' shops around, but usually more than a dollar because Australia doesn't really do low prices. Usually run by asians, although there are some bigger chains (eg Reject shop) selling cheap tat, at higher than reasonable prices usually.

Mind, NZ isn't cheap either.

A number of such shops around (such as fantastic (sic) furniture.) Usually grouped together in concrete bunkers along out of town roads. Find one, you usually find the rest.

Probably not exactly the same range in one store, although close. Usually more targeted on particular niches.

In FountainGate, SE Melbourne, there was indeed a place called The Warehouse.

Not sure if it is still there.

There are plenty of dollar stores - sometimes things are on sale for 2, rather than 1, etc. Plenty of bargains to be had.

The tat I get from there goes into my daughter's Christmas stockings until they reach such an age they are on to me.

there used to be a 'warehouse' - which I think was part of the Kiwi chain- near Tottenham rail station. Can't remember the name of the shopping centre - something like Centre West.

Full of tat but good for weedmat!

Be aware, The Warehouse did used to be in Melbourne (was one at Airport West), but its nothing like The Warehouse in NZ.
