Thankyou Mr hooker!
Hiya,
We asked our Landlord if he could ask the owner of the house we are renting if we could get an air conditioning unit installed in the open plan kitchen/living area & he said YES!!
All we had to do was get a couple of quotes,get them back to LJ Hooker,it was accepted & approved with the owner within a week & this monday coming we are having the air con installed
Great service & a lovely cool house (downstairs anyway!)

Yes,it certainly makes a difference! we had it in our last rental & it was just bliss,although we moved cause we wanted a pool,we now have a house with a pool but no air con! been here a few months now & the house is unbearably warm sometimes so we asked to have it installed,was very pleased how quickly everything was approved

theres nothing wrong with them but its hard to feel at home and settled when you know your due to move ..

We're in Bray Park (Strathpine) wee bit away from you
Yeah i know that feeling well,we are hoping to be here for a good 2 yrs or more,long enough to save up a good deposit for our own home as i just cant cope with all the upheavel of moving again!
so the next time we move hopefully it will be into our own home Good luck with your move

We're managing OK with a couple of coolers and a couple of fans (and sea breezes). Our landlord has been really good but I'm not sure I'd be cheeky enough to ask for aircon without expecting a rent increase

you guys are lucky. i've tried everything with my landlord. first a request for aircon, no response. so then i said i'd pay more rent. no response, so then i said i'd buy the aircon if they paid installation, and i'd leave it there when i moved out. still no response. hence why you may have seen my portable aircon thread.
i get to cool off in the pool, but it's always too stuffy and humid at night. i should never have moved somewhere without aircon. i didn't realise how much i relied upon it.
