TFN Query?

Does anybody know what is needed to get a TFN in Australia, as far as the UK is concerned?

Will my UK National Insurance number be needed by Australia at all, or previous employers contacted?

thanks in advance

The above link is good, but in brief;

You can apply online or at an ATO office once your visa has been validated. You then need to allow upto 28days to receive it. Until you have one you will be taxed at the highest rate of 48.5%, so get one asap.

You won't need your NI number (unless you have tax to claim back from the IR, then you might want to keep a record of it). Previous employers listed as a reference may be contacted.
