Not bad, though if you have been in Perth it could be the other end of the spectrum. The nearest major city is Gympie, with Noosa, encompassing Noosaville, Noosa Heads, Noosa Junction etc closeby. There is some major residential development going on at the moment. It is also the gateway to Fraser Island. Tewantin is, however, overshadowed by the touristy Noosa enclave, with the main past-time being fishing.

Well apart for being on the other side of the country, it is not a busy state capital city like Perth. It is the laidback part of the Noosa tourist strip, ie no skyscrapers/highrises, big business offices, so if you're expecting employment opportunities, you'd need to look to Noosa/Noosa Heads, Gympie etc.

I did say laidback, Aussie expression for laidback. Noosa Heads is the busy part.
