Default Terra Nova TV series

As far I know this new series has been shown in the US and Australia and I think it's being shown on Sky 1 in the UK and other countries too.

If you get a chance to watch it in your corner of the world you may be interested to know the new world scenes were shot here in Queensland in Brisbane, Gold Coast and the hinterland. The waterfall shot at the beginning is Natural Arch.

If you're in Australia it's on Channel 10 at 8.30, they'll cut it to shreds with adverts and ruin it so record it.

My kids are watching it because some of their mates scored parts Apparently it rained a lot and went over budget but they had great fun.

First episode was good, for a tv version of Jurassic Park meets Avatar.

there has been too much great sci/fi fantasy TV in the last 5 or so years for this to get anything higher than 6/10 from me.

predictable clunky dialog , shiny american teens who i'd be happy to see eaten by already old fashioned looking CGi "slashers" , more plot holes than you can shake a stick at.

A real shame cos the premise is good.

Apart from the 'disney' characters and some serious 'fail' CGI, this show has potential to be OK (not great).

Remember we've only seen the pilot episode so far - it might improve and settle into a rhythm allowing characters to be become a little more complex - or it might turn into complete rubbish suitable only for pre-teen viewing.

Either way attempting to watch it on Ch10 would be like popping your eyeballs out with a teaspoon and slowly scooping out your brains. I saw the trailer, figured it might be worth looking at and downloaded a decent untainted copy for viewing.

Ì watched it and whilst it was ok I thought it looked like it would turn out like that plane crash thing that went on for years and made no sense. - sounds like me actually.

Yeah the dialogue isn't brilliant. Most of those shiny American teens were either British, Canadian or Aussie. You didn't recognize local lad Eka Darville or Aisha Dee? Matt Scully from Storage is in later episodes too.

The action sequences and the scenery shots were good and the kids act well.

It's a cross between Avatar and Jurassic Park but I can also see similarities to Outcasts shame that never went to a second season.

good show, has potential. Give it some time, it takes awhile for a show to find its feet, most pilots dont look half as good as this one was.

Wait until its 10 episodes in and then pass your judgements, doing it on the first pilot when the actors and writers havent got into the rythem yet is a bad idea.

Another one season wonder. Just when you are enjoying it and getting into it you'll hear that it's been canned because of plummeting viewer numbers in the USA.

It's happened with almost all the new tv programmes that the wife and I start to watch and like.

I'm assuming that the actor playing the Terra Nova camp commander isn't concerned about being type cast in this type of role then?!

After 30 odd+ years of being incredibly busy with both stage and film, I shouldn't think he cares greatly

I was talking about the actually viewing time of the downloaded version compared to the Channel 10 showing.

It downloaded in under 10 minutes.
