Term Dates
Can anybody tell me roughly what the term dates for schools are? Does it differ between states? And what are the school times?. Thank you

NSW public school dates this year are:
Term 2: 28 April - 4 July
Term 3: 21 July - 26 September
Term 4: 13 October - 12 December
Private schools have longer holidays (ours has an extra weeks holiday between Terms 2 and 3 and they break up for Christmas/Summer holidays on 4 December but I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere).
Bell times vary.

Yes, don't do what we did and arrive the day the schools were breaking up for 2/3 weeks! By the time term started again we were so desperate to get our eldest back into school we went for the nearest one rather than looking around and making an informed choice. To be fair we had looked at it before on our reccie, but we still should have seen more. We ended up moving him after 7 weeks which was unsettling for him and expensive for us (uniform etc. x 2!!)
