Yep! ... Commonwealth gave one no probs, but I think the healthy bank balance (ahhh, them were the days!) helped.

Can you get a credit card on a WHV? i'm going to aus on this and then applying for a 457.

That's ok for business expenses but we may need to use one for personal expenses from time to time and I don't think the boss would approve!!

Getting a VISA debit card would most likely be easier. There are no credit checks. You just open an account with the bank (St George for example) and the VISA card is linked to your savings account.
