temporary rental in Sydney
Wondering if anybody could recomend a good place to stay in Sydney, a self contained, studio apartment type of place. We are 2 adults and will spend 1 [possible 2 months] in Sydney before moving on. Our dog will be in qurantine at the eastern creek station [close to rooty hill/blacktown/eastern creek and will be visiting her as much as we can, we will have car though.
Appreciate it.

Re: temporary rental in Sydney
There's not actually a great choice when it comes to 'long-term but temporary accommodation' in Sydney - and it's pricey
For what it's worth:
In Paramatta there's the Waldorf , as Sandra suggested - this is probably best in terms of proximity to you dog and maybe not as expensive as more central places. The down side, I would say, is that it's not really Sydney, it's actually classed as a separate city - you're a distance from all the action. I've only been there once - there seems to be a busy enough bar/cafe/shopping area though.
Two places I have stayed at:
In North Sydney there's Harbourside Apartments , great view, but not as classy as it looks and deceptively long walk to train and big shops (great for Blues Point Road restaurants, though).
Some apartments are privately owned and you may be able to rent one for a few months. Check out Real Estate agents in Kirribilli and North Sydney - the apartments are also know as Henry Lawson Apartments.
Also in North Sydney, there's Kirribilli Apartments, though it's actually next to Kirribilli - Milsons Point. Very convenient for the train, and a nicer setup than Harbourside. Also great views of harbour. You're still talking $100+ per night for up to 1 week. For longer you'd be best to call them and ask for a quote. Same company that owns Portofino apartments a block down the road.
If that's out of the question there's always beach holiday apartments around places like Dee Why - but they all look a bit depressing and 70's to me... you might want to check out the real estate people in these areas too.
Despite what I said, this is nowhere near your only options - just some I know of.
Cheers,
Big.

Re: temporary rental in Sydney
We stayed at the medina apartments for a month till we had our rental sorted the ones we stayed at were in marsfield busaco rd as far as i know it is $190 a night so quite expensive but is near to the M2 which goes up towards rooty hill etc (i live in glenwood and it takes me 15-20mins to get to macquarie centre via M2) and also near to macquarie centre which is a great shopping mall (where i am sitting now actually lol making use of wireless internet at the croissant house) there are most things you need there also have a look on real estate.com as sometimes they do advertise short term lets in the rentals section.
