Default temporary health/life insurance?

I vaguely remember folk here talking before about getting insurance to cover you during the move to Australia. Anyone got any more info on this? We have travel insurance, have just cancelled our life insurance policies here in the UK but not sure if we need something more than travel insurance to cover us until we're set up properly in Australia!

thanks!

Why did you cancel your life insurance?

If you are on a 175 you are eligible for Medicare from the day you land. Maybe you were reading about people on a 475 temp visa?

That might have been it, I just vaguely remember someone mentioning life insurance as opposed to medical insurance.

thanks!
