Default temp marriage visas and obtaining a mortgage

I have read quite a lot of threads of the past few months about temp marriage visa persons not being eligible for a mortgage until they have their perm. residency or 20% deposit.

Has anyone managed to get a mortgage without a 20% deposit?

Anyone?

My husband banks with National and they said that providing we satisfy their board we get a mortgage with less that 20%, even though I'm on a temp. visa?
