i plan to emmigrate to sydney next year some time. does anyone know about getting work as a secondary school english teacher? want to do supply for a while, until i decide exactly where to live etc. i have heard that you have to do some kind of conversion course, any info on this would be a great help.

As an English teacher, I suggest that you begin by learning to spell 'emigrate' correctly...

soz about spelling, but i am on laptop watching tim henman play tennis and drinking few beers all at same time as doing this. also just cos i'm an english teacher doesn't mean i have to spell correctly all the time, in all situations, especially when i have had a few too many beers

WHY OH WHY are poeple so serious all the time and so eager to pick up on people's faults.
cheers

Hiya Threlly,

Long time no see, mate. In answer to your question I know that for Primary teaching you have to do 4 consecutive Friday's training on the Oz curriculum. Hope that helps some, if not, it will bump this anyway.
Take care
Sarah
