My wife and I are hoping to migrate to Oz. We're both teachers, I'm Phys Ed and Kate is primary. What is the job market like.

I am not in education but I understand there is a distinct shortage. I don't know
whether they recognize your teaching qualification per se or whether they require a
bridging course.
In Australia each State maintains a separate education system and there is a plethora
of privately run institutions.
For careers in Queensland Education see http://education.qld.gov.au/ This may have
links to other states.

Varies from State to State and area of expertise. First of all you will need to
register in the state of your choice. Qld requires a four year education degree, or a
two year education post-graduate qualification, plus a degree. Experienced teachers
from other English speaking countries may be given Provisional Registration while
they complete required upgrading studies. Jobs: Secondary Maths, Science and IT
teachers are in great demand everywhere. Generally other specialities may find
employment in rural areas, but there are few permanent opportunities in the coastal
cities. There are however plenty of relief teaching positions available, including
daily 'supply' teaching. You need the appropriate visa etc of course, or you're
unemployable!!
