teaching jobs around noosa
Does anyone know if there are many teaching jobs available in the Noosa area? What are the prospects of a primary school teacher getting a full time post there or nearby? We are thinking very seriously about heading to Noosa instead of Brissie but are worried about the job angle. Thanks for any replies

Thanks for the links. Seen them before and it seems that QLD operate a strange system whereby teachers advertise their profiles on list and schools pick and choose from it. Makes it kind of hard to know if there are enough jobs around.

I am secondary trained and although never intended to go back to the class room, finding work ops difficult I did consider it. We are in NSW and from what I hear from teachers at out kids schools, jobs are a plenty in the bush but in areas where everyone wants to live (like Noosa) there are more teachers than vacancies. Don't let me put you off. Good luck

You can only apply for private school teaching jobs in QLD. All state jobs - apart from contracts are awarded to teachers on a list.
Realistically you will never get posted in Noosa unless you do 3 years country service in a remote place like Mount Isa. Then you will earn enough points to apply to be transfered to a more preferable place like the Sunny Coast. It is a complicated system here and you are 'owned' by ED QLD.
Look up some of my old posts on teaching for more info. I have spent many an hour posting and moaning about teaching here!
