teaching in australia

hi

I'm currently completing a degree in the UK and going on to do a PGCE but would love to move to Oz. Are there opportunities for new teachers there or do you need a certain number of years experience?

Hi there :)

Might be worth having a read in the teachers forum - http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=80

There aren't opportunities for Australia's new teachers unfortunately, let alone foreign ones! In some states the only way in to something substantive is to do the hard yards in places that Aus teachers don't want to live - hardly the migrants dream. If you are secondary Maths/Science you'd have a better outcome probably. Good luck but don't hold your breath!
