Default Teaching in Australia

My husband and I are discussing whether to move to Australia. At the moment I am teaching English in a Secondary School in Wolverhampton. Obviously I would want to continue teaching in Australia, but I am concerned about issues like
1) Job security - are contracts permanent
2) Where I can find a job, would it be possible to get a job before I go
3) Whether there are sufficient jobs
4) What the schools are like - we are looking to move to NSW
5) Whether there are unions and if they offer the support they do here
6) The situation with pensions

If anyone knows any answers or any good web sites where I could get some I would really appreciate it. I know that it will be just as touch as here - but at least it would be somewhere different.

Thanks

Jo
