Teaching Advice

Hi

I am wanting to move to Oz. I have been teaching for 5 years in a secondary school however I qualified through the route of 3 yr BA Hons degree with QTS am I right in thinking that this will not be recognised anywhere is Australia?

any advice would be gratefully received.

Re: Teaching Advice

Generally I believe they require 4 years of study. That is the case where I am in NSW anyway - 3 year plus PGCE is acceptable, 3 year plus GTP is more dubious. They may accept three year plus masters? There is a good site, for nsw, called TeachNSW which has a lot of information. Obviously the rules are slightly different in each state as they each have their own education system.
Have you looked on the teaching forum on here? There's a lot of Australian discussion on there too. Also you could try doing a search on this part of the forum as I'm sure you would find something.

Good luck!
