Teachers
Hi all,
I was just wondering if any teachers with less than 1 years teaching experience i.e. before completing induction year, have successfully applied to WACOT and gained teaching employment. I am doing a SCITT PGCE where the emphasis is on continuous teaching practice as well as two block teaching practices. It equates to a 1/3 of the course being lecture based while the remainder is practical (classroom based)
I am referring to the WACOT Act 2004 which Says:
Graduates do not have to provide evidence of teaching experience just 45 days supervised teaching practice. It then goes on to say that graduates are eligible for provisional membership and once they have become members are free to apply for teaching positions in the state and private school sector.
I am planning to do my induction here but there is a strong possibility of my hubby getting a job before my induction year is over. Therefore, I would like to be sure that I will be able to work should we need to move to WA sooner rather than later.
I would be really grateful to hear form anyone else who has experience or knowledge of this?
Thanks
ACE
