Tazzy's Tales
Just thought I'd give you a quick update on life at Tazzy's house.
My parents are speaking to me, they haven't come round any, but at least we can have a normal conversation about my son without them saying hurtful things.
No, now the name calling has progressed to the head of the family, my grandma.
Friday is usually the day I take my son round to her house, so he can see his great gran, but not today. I phoned first to see how the land lay and basically she was not at all polite about my husband. She reckons I'm scared of him and doing this because he's making me!!!!!! What a load of bol****s.
In fact if it wasn't so nasty it would be funny, it must be nice to have such a vivid imagination. BUT
She also said I'm slowly killing my fathers as his heart is breaking and it will be the last time I see my gran because she will be dead when I come back to the U.K. again!!
I was so angry I had to put the phone down on her, which I've never done anything of the sort before, because I've always respected my gran.
Why do old people think that because they are old they can get away with being so bloody nasty?
There was a thread the other week about someone's grand parent dying whilst they were away, and to be honest its a horrible think to contemplate. But realistically I know that it may happen, she's not wrong there. But saying this to me was only emotional blackmail, but, its not going to work.
So, I've just about alienated everyone on my side of the family. Now over to hubby's as we've yet to tell them. I've got a feeling though (and so has he) that they are not going to be quite so bad. They'll probably say they'll miss us but then jump at the chance of free holidays!
A Very P***ed off but still determined....

Tazzy,
You've got to think of it this way - what's more important, keeping your family happy, or keeping yourself happy? We can't always do things that please our family all of the time - sometimes you have to do what's right for you for a change.
Go for it!

Hiya Tazzy,
similar situation here. My family aren't talking to me either. It all started when I told them of our intention to move to Oz. They thought that we wouldn't get in and have been holding onto that thought but this weekend I have the task of telling them that our visas were granted this week, that the house is up for sale and providing we sell soon we will hopefully be going early 2004:scared:
I've not told them yet because I didn't want to spoil our celebrations this week.
Aren't families great!!
Good luck with yours wish me luck with mine - think i might be disinherited as of tomorrow

Thinking of you and hoping they all calm down a bit soon! Can't you slip them something in their tea?
I haven't told my Grandparents or Father yet. Hope I don't get comments like these, but if I do I wont let it put us off leaving. It mustn't put you off making a life for yourself and doing what is best for your family.
