Taz or mainland

I never got to Taz, spent most my time in Brisbane (living on Stradie) and Perth...I keep hearing wonderful things...sounds like my ideal place...Any one got any views? Good or Bad?

I've never been there but know people who have moved out that way. From gut feeling and reports I think that is where I will retire.

It keeps reminding me of Ireland, where I unsuccessfully tried to emigrate to a few years back.

No more solid facts from me, just a feeling :)

It will be top of my list once I get some leisure cash ...

The gut feelings are usually the correct ones (before the over-analysis starts kicking in) so good luck with your decision :)

My friends that have moved from Brisbane are very positive about it, as long as work (if you need it) can be found.

In nearly 7 years I have not been off the coast around Brisbane at all, not even a ferry.

That's a bit odd now I come to mention it.

Tassie is lovely and we'd move there as my husband can run his business from wherever he is. The only thing holding us back is the kids education and extra curricula activities. Speaking to friends and relatives when we were there a couple of months ago, there isn't much work around and not a good place to go without a guaranteed decent income before you make the move.

My mate has just moved there..... Very cheap house prices (compared to Perth).

My wife, son and I are moving to Launceston in the New Year.

My wife is a Launcestonian and we're all looking forward to it.

Tassie is beautiful - small, friendly, amazing scenery and plenty going on. Jobs are scarce though, and many people have to move to the mainland just to get work. If you can score a job over there though its well worth moving.
