Default Taxpayer cash for website of hatred

We all know the UK has a soft spot for such culture but the over taxed in Australia cannot afford to fund this kind of fun .
I do not mind keeping the Abos , fair play they where here first but I draw the line at helping the Arab Hitler youth expressing their culture.

A TAXPAYER-funded website encourages young Australian-Palestinians to become virtual rock throwers in a mockery of Middle East violence.

Players can write messages of hate on a website "rock" and watch as a young man loads it into a slingshot before firing it into the distance.
The Virtual Palestine website has become a forum for racist propaganda as angry anti-Israel activists declare jihad, or holy war, against the Jewish state and call for "Western crusaders" to be humiliated.

The website heads a list of controversial projects bankrolled by the Australia Council for the Arts.

The council handed out $117 million in 1678 grants during 2001-02.

Yeah, yeah, we can waste money as well.....

Bin Laden terror group secures Lotto handout, Government will ensure money is well spent.
by Geoff Pattison
Osama bin Laden is to receive a £1 million grant from lottery funds, it was confirmed today. The money will be given to his UK tentacle Trainee Airline Pilots for Allah by the Community Fund, already in the news for not giving asylum seekers enough funding to fight deportation.
A spokescreature for the Community Fund said that rigorous checks had been carried out to ensure that the money would not be used for political purposes. "It is against the rules," he/she or it said, "to use lottery money for political purposes, but Trainee Airline Pilots for Allah is a strictly religious ethnic organisation, as the name suggests. In any case, we would be guilty of racism if we turned down their application."
It is understood that the funds will be used to pay for pilot training — though the Community Fund was at pains to point out that no money would be wasted on learning the complicated procedures required for landing an aircraft on a runway, since returning to the ground in this fashion was contrary to the teachings of the Koran.
A government spokesman said that this was nothing to do with them. "Lottery grants are nothing to do with us," he said. "Unless, of course, the 'good cause' is one favoured by the tabloids. Anyway, this is only a twelfth of what we paid for the Churchill papers."
A government minister, who also denied all responsibility, noted: "We want to ensure that all the 28p per pound of Lottery money that is not wasted on tax and high salaries for Camelot board members is put to good use — even though it is nothing to do with us.

And.....

National Lottery –

the Lottery takes around £5.5 billion in sales each year, of this…
50% goes to the prize fund - £2.5 billion
28% goes to ‘good’ causes and art! - £1.54 billion
13% goes to the government in the form of tax - £720 million
5% goes to retailers as commission - £280 million
4% goes to Camelot -£220 million, (1% - £60 million being pure profit)

Now, ok 50% as prizes seems fair – after all that’s the reason people will buy tickets!
Only 28% to good causes though, that’s not so good, especially since so much of that is wasted on ‘the arts’ – hardly a charity! And of course, many other wastes of money!
13% to the government! Well, I bet you didn’t know that – to be expected though & lets face it, it’s better than them recouping it from income or fuel tax!
5% to retailers sounds fair enough.
4% to Camelot! Having a laugh aren’t they, they state that 3% is operating costs; I always find these statements hard to believe purely because it’s a really easy way for them to get extra cash. 1% profit, not much!!! Now they’re really having a laugh, £60 million pounds pure profit, 90% of businesses don’t make anything like that in profit! Bring on Richard Branson, lets get rid of those snotty nosed, overpaid Camelot idiots!!

And.....

Milleneum Dome –

Some £628 million of lottery money has been wasted. The Ministers responsible have, at least in the eyes of the public, been disgraced. A lot of water has flowed under the closed millennium bridge since we last debated the dome, and hundreds of millions of pounds worth of lottery money with it.
The original lottery funding was £399 million; about a year ago, the project received an extra draw-down facility--repayable--of £50 million; it received £60 million in February; £29 million in May; £43 million in August; and an extra £47 million in September. That is the shameful record of the dome's miserable year.
Getting to the truth about what went wrong with the project has been a slow and painful process.

He said there was a "big" discrepancy between the number of permanent jobs the government claims to have created and the actual figure.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) own figures show that - of 110,000 jobs created by the £300m Regional Assistance programme - only 21,000 could be regarded as permanent.
This works out at £21,000 a job.

DTI advice line wasted millions
By Francis Elliott (Filed: 02/06/2002)
Ministers have been officially reprimanded for wasting taxpayers' money on a business advice line that cost more than £100 a call.
The telephone hotline - which was criticised by businesses for frequently giving incorrect information - closed in March, less than a year after being launched.
Fewer than 60,000 calls were received by the Business Links National Contact Centre, a fraction of the 1m inquiries expected each year by the Department of Trade and Industry, which spent an estimated £7m on the flop.

You grasp with little idea of waste in Australia which has a smaller tax base.

Housing affordability in Australia has dropped to a 13-year low and Mr Howard says much of the blame lies with state taxes like stamp duty.

The inquiry has won the support of industry groups and the Democrats but the states and the Opposition are not so welcoming.

The Opposition says Western Australian Premier Geoff Gallop and his ministers continue to spend millions of dollars on reviews and taskforces instead of getting down to the business of governing the state.

The Government has authorised 295 reviews, committees, inquiries, task forces and summits since it took office in February 2001.

The Opposition leader Colin Barnett says Dr Gallop's department alone has set up 20 such reviews, at a cost of $3.5 million.

The total expenditure on inquiries in the first two years of his Government stands at $13.5 million.

Meet your Aussie mate .

Ratbag grants should get old heave-ho

WA TEACHERS are expected to strike next month in protest against a totally inadequate pay offer.

The Police Officers Union regards the pay deal offered to its members by the State Government as an insult.

These public servants, who are essential to the welfare of society, might like to ponder a few recently revealed examples of just where public money is being allocated.

It has been reported that the Australia Council for the Arts gave a Victorian artist more than $36,000 to organise a six-car wheelie session, a performance that produced a giant drawing from tyre marks.

The council also commissioned 10 small artworks in WA which were then delivered (pizza-style) to homes across Australia, at a cost of nearly $25,000. Some Perth residents also took part in a $20,000 cyber-snooping project.

A Collingwood artist was given $80,000 to travel to India and Ireland to examine the difference between human gestures in those countries and Australia.

The council handed out 1687 grants in 2001-02 totalling more than $117 million. This money has produced a $28,000 presentation on the unique sounds of the great fences of Australia, as well as an orchestra performance in a shipping container costing $9764 and a $17,800 internet picture story created from tarot card readings.

Refugees in Victoria received a $31,000 grant last year for a project which "uses stories about important meals as a catalyst for their work", Christmas Island youths received $11,000 to learn break-dancing.

These are just a few examples of a long list of taxpayer-funded nonsense. This sort of loopy social engineering is a hangover from previous left-wing Federal governments and it's time to move on and give all this ratbaggery the old heave-ho.
ERNEST DELLA, Westminster.

Difference is, the grants you have listed are only for a couple of thousand dollars, the ones I have listed are for hundreds of millions. Imagine all the others that I haven't listed!

One of the smallest states (population wise) in Australia WA has wasted quote "The council handed out 1687 grants in 2001-02 totalling more than $117 million. " just think on about how much is wasted nation wide , now understand why this country has as many taxes and levys as it has people.

You're resembleing the monkey in your avatar and still talking in peanuts! '$117 Million Total in one year?', We wasted more than that just on the millenium dome! You'd think after all that the entry would be free.....no way, £50 for a family to enter, full of fast food restaurants inside, closed after one year, wasted even more money on a new years party that only royals and snobs were invited to and then two years trying to sell it for a fraction of the price because nobody wanted to buy it.

I'll find out how much Kinver Parish Council have wasted for you, just so you know where your council tax is going.

Actually Steve, a lot of companies wanted to buy it, and for the asking price. But they were all refused because the first thing they wanted to do was dismantle the Dome and use the land for other projects. Wouldn't have looked good for Phoney Tony and his Cronies.

Proves it was no use as a dome. They should have built it upsidedown and used it as a radio telescope like Aricibo.

And the UK needs another mug, so hurry up. The figure you gave may have only come from a state with few people but is was for a whole year, right? The figure I gave was agreed and handed out in a week! Perth population 1,341,000 (1998 estimate). Therefore $117,000,000 / 1,341,000 people / 52 weeks = $1.68c out of you pocket for total projects in a year. Population of UK 56,000,000 Therefore £120,000,000 / 56,000,000 = £2.14 (or $5.13 at todays rate) for one project in a week!

Don't forget to take your blinkers off when you come back.
