Smile Taxation By Aus. Government.
Hi, Does the Aussie government tax you on the money that you transfer there from the UK. The only money we will be taking is from the sale of our house...it should be a fair old wedge though.??????? Any ideas..

As far as I know the answer is NO. BUT you are under an obligation to declare any cash on you when entering the country (don't think this extends to cash held in accounts though).

There is no capital transfer tax but depending on circumstances there might be capital gains tax in either the UK or Australia.

If you don't understand this then an online forum is going to confuse further - get professional assistance.
