Tax: Working for a UK company from Australia

Currently I'm in UK working for a UK based company. There is a possibility me to continue work for the same company even after my planned move to Australia.
After researching a bit, I found that, in my situation I'll be full tax liable in Australia.

I want to know how this practically works.

Can my UK employer pay my fully salary to my Australian bank account without any tax deductions??? Then I'm responsible to declare it as an foreign (UK) income to Australian Tax Office, ATO? …. Or….. my UK employer need to withhold any taxes on behalf of ATO???

Very mush appreciate if you could share your experience/things you know.

I work for 3 UK companies that I worked for in the UK. I set up an Aussie Company and invoice the UK Companies.

It may be different in your case. If your moving anywhere near the sunshine coast I'll give you details of my accountant if you like.

Confused on this too. We are on temp visa and my company want to pay me as a consultant for a few months after my move to Oz. Have been looking on the ATO site but cannot work out if I pay tax in Oz or not on a temp visa. Would I be better off setting up Oz company where I can offset stationery, phone, etc?

thanks for any advice

As tax rules will change year to year, it is advisable to contact either the ATO or an business accountant/tax specialist.

I believe that you only have to pay tax once in the country where you earned the money..... no matter who pays you!
How this works in practical terms I have no idea! I'm sure that someone more knowledgeable will be along soon!
