Default Tax on UK Bank Interest

Hi folks,

Does anyone know if UK bank interest is still taxed at source in the UK (after moving to Oz)? or can you apply to receive interest gross?
I guess worldwide income is taxed in Oz so it may make no diff. Perhaps the tax paid in the UK is netted against the Oz tax liability?

Would appreciate any help.

Many Thanks

Speak to your bank and get it paid gross. Yup it will be taxed in Oz. You can always pay tax twice and allow for it on your Oz tax return but more hassle.
