Default Tax returns

Hi guys and gals,

Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get your income tax rebate from the IR? Just working out the budget and how much champagne we can buy for when we arrive!

Thanks,

Gavin

Depends on how efficent your tax office i reckon.

One year, i had my rebate within 2 weeks of posting !!

Year before that took 4 months, which was though a different office.

Probably depends on the time of year too.....about march/april/may can be very busy for them thar tax bods.

Cheers. Yeh, I'm hoping it will be okay, we'll be posting them off in a couple of weeks - should be a quiet time for them...but then, this is the Inland Revenue!

Yep, I'm finishing a couple of months early as well! Nothing like enjoying this emigration malarky...

Last day of work in 13 days and can't wait.

We actually fly out on Sep 7 - we're doing 8 weeks around the States before we get to Oz. We've always wanted to do the US of A, and decided now was our best chance.

Counting down the days...

I didn't do mine till I got here but it took about 6-8 weeks after I sent it off. Had it paid into my UK bank account.
