Tax Rates-How does it work?

My husband has been offered a job and I am trying to work out the amount of tax he is likely to pay. He has been offered 83,000 AUS Dollars.

I understand that he is treated as resident for tax purposes but cannot find out what the tax thresholds are and the personal allowance ietc.

Can anyone help?

often the amount offered will include 9% superannuation so if that is the case you should factor that into your cals as well when you work out taxes n take home pay

Normal tax on 83K including medicare Levy will be about $19k gave or take a hundred or so. Would be less with allowable deductions. Also as mentioned by previous poster, make sure that's $83k plus super otherwise it's not as attractive as it looks.

Thanks, his contract offer states superannuation is in addition to his base salary! The contract states $42 per hour and then states his stated weekly hours are 38.
I have worked it out to be about $19K in tax but always thought the tax was high is Aus
