Tax file number
 

Hi Dudes,
Being the sad old git that I am, came across these web sites
for obtaining tax file numbers for ozzy's and another one for people living outside -www.ato.gov.au/content/forms/downloads/non_resident_tfn_application.pdf

You need an acrobat reader to download the forms and download only takes acouple of secs.
The forms also states that tax file number is not reqd if you are an overseas invester(opening bank accounts) as the interest is subject to a "Non resident withholding tax" before it is paid.(Anybody Know what % this is ???)
Also, any info on childrens accounts and tax implications ??
Better go now cause i've just tipped a tin of paint over to watch it dry untill the visa comes !
