Hi there

Watched the TV show too and really liked the look of Tauranga. Just been having a look at some websites to check out population etc as dont know much about the place. we have family in Christchurch so that is where we have been concentrating on but would love to know more about Tauranga.

What is the name of the local papers for jobs etc and do they have a website?
What kind of amenities are there? We are a couple in late twenties - would it be a good place?

Hello!

The newspaper website isn't brilliant, but it usually gives three headlines a day (apart from on a Sunday). It's:

However, my personal favourite website is:

...especially the wavecam! (Obviously if you are in the UK you have to look at it at your night...) Here's a pic from it today (remember it's Autumn here)

Sorry, I'm not to 'up' on the jobs websites...

Yes - I do live here. Well, in Papamoa (quite near the now famous firing1...) I'm a Brit who has moved here.

We've only been here for 4 months, and so the rose-tinted spectacles are still firmly in place! We are coming down to earth a little, but have (so far!) found absolutely nothing wrong with the area.
