Sounds very promising! I wish you all the best for a quick sale. The parents thing is very difficult, you just need to take it one step at a time, there is no easy way unfortunately.

 Thanks Kerry.... I've actually written my Mum&Dad a letter....because they dont really talk about Oz whenever we talk about it - i needed to get a few things off my chest so thought a letter would be the best way to do that....I'm going to pop it through their door later... Just need my Mum to understand that its not goodbye forever when we leave as i'm sure she thinks she wont see us again...:(
Blooming grey skies at the moment - Hope it doesnt rain before viewers come round - otherwise they'll be trapsing dirt through the house after being in the garden and i'll have to clean the floors before the next viewer!

7 weeks tomorrow :eek: that is not far away at all !
Really hope everything works out.....and it was really great news about Andrew's job offer! Cant wait to see everyone once we arrive in Tas!
Looks like some of us will be arriving in the colder weather - gives us a good amount of time to settle down and adjust before the warmer weather comes!

Re: Tasmania??

Well today's viewers have been. Both seemed to like the house... 1st was a lady in her late 50's or so looking to move nearer to her daughter so she could help out with childcare for her grandchildren. Second viewers were a couple in their twenties - 1st time buyers working in Liverpool St, London and wanting easy access to the city. Apparently they've been renting about 5mins away from our house for the last 6 months in order to get a feel for the area and they really like it (probably been paying more than £1,000 a month in rent for the privilege!). They seemed a lot more keen - especially on the back garden and the fact that we back onto open fields. We have a view of the whole sky from our dining room / living room - so we get to see beautiful sunsets and amazing colours in the sky at night.
(i'm hoping for a similar outlook in Tas - although with a bit of water in there as well!)..
Anyway, i guess that we'll have to wait and see what happens and if we hear anything from the estate agents tomorrow - who knows!
Andy will have the pleasure of dealing with tomorrow's evening viewer and having the two kids at the same time as i will be at work! :)

Hope everyone has had a good weekend!
take care
Cathy :)

Mate, that is bloody brilliant!!!!!!

Don't worry about the bed thing, the Bishops have just come back and they can't get their furniture until Friday, we've managed to scramble a double mattress and 3 single ones for them, and practically furnished their house out out with camping equipment! But it'll do them till their stuff comes. There is enough of us out here now to be able to sort you out with all sorts! We move out of our rental in 7 weeks exactly, if you like I can put a word in for you and you can take over the tenancy. That way you wouldn't have to go searching, and its not a bad house. It has 3 bedrooms, and has just been refurbished. Its very conveniently close to where Andrew will be working, he could walk to work if he wanted to. But its up to you, I can send you some pics if you PM me your email address.

Oh my god I'm so excited for you! :)

All the best
Kerry
X

Andy couldnt go to work this morning as he's working on a roof in Shepherds Bush West London and didn't fancy being blown off of it!
Saw pictures of Brighton on the TV - the coast is getting a bit of a hammering down this way!

What's it like in Wales Zoe & Beth???

Just to let you know that as from yesterday Beth has decided that the Oz move is off:eek:

See post below from other thread, was very shocked myself as Beth has always seemed so determined and upbeat, and her hubby just got a good offer in Tas. Don't know all the ins and outs but I think that her sister moved out to Oz recently and has returned after 3 weeks, so maybe that has got something to do with it.
I wish her and her family well in whatever they choose:wub:

Re: Whinging Pom House seller

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just thought I'd let you know that I've got cold feet about the big move..........and finally threw my towel in 2 hours ago.
We're not emigrating........staying here.
House is off the market (buyers will be fuming when they find out.......but sc*ew them!!!) and OH has emailed both job offers to decline them for personal reasons.
Going to take the girls to Disneyland USA later in the year, buy a new 7 seater car and huge plasma tv!!!!
Can't explain what made me decide....apart from being financially floored....LOL.....but I'm totally ok with it.
Won't be back on this site again as I know some of you will try to change my mind.
Really hope things work out for all of you.............and thankyou for all of your help and support this last year.
Signing out for good.......so no pm's please!!!!

I saw this earlier today myself. :( If it's for definite - then it is a real shame as i know Beth and her family had gone through a heck of a lot to get those visa's...
I hope they at least decide to validate the visa's before they expire - at least then the option to go at a later stage is not lost....
But if Beth does return to the forum to at least read these notes - i hope she realises that she will be missed....:(

i agree Cathy, to at least go and validate then they have a few years to decide, thats what we decided when we wasnt sure what Corinne wanted to do, to still go and do it ourselves, and the thing is Beths sister may well change her mind and go back. Such a shock, she seemed so sure.

Holy crap! Didn't see that one coming!! After all the crap that they have gone through, I can't believe it. Oh well, I wish them well, there is obviously a very good reason for her decision. As she was soooo excited about coming to Tas.
