Re: Tasmania??
yes but I didn't say how much the mortgage was ;)
The W.A. one wasn't neccessarily huge as we bought before the big resources boom!! and then went and re-mortgaged a few times |

wages generally-but not always so ASK!-are usually quoted as "$xxx plus super" which means that you get the $xxx and the employer then pays 9% of that into your super fund in addition to what you receive i.e. you actually get 109% of $xxx.
e.g you have a job that pays $50,000 - you get paid $50,000 and your employer also pays your fund $4,500. hope this helps. it's just very worrying that none of the people we saw in November would commit to any job offers without us already living on the Island.... although they did say to Andy that they would most definitely have work for him so i guess thats something.... i think i'm worrying more about money than he is - but i have always worked - and seeing as i'm planning on having a little break when we 1st arrive from working - i guess partly the fear thing is losing my financial independence! We're just not used to being a one-wage family i guess so we'll have to compromise and get used to not having certain things that we now take for granted... |

I appreciate you're worried but if they told you that Andrew should get work I don't see why they would lie. Going from two incomes to one is bound to worry you. It's pointless me saying try not to worry because the whole moving to Oz thingy is stressful but when you get here it's great ! |
