Default Taping Boxes For Shipping and Insurance Decision

Having our first lot of (self packed) boxes being picked up by PSS tomorrow ... and I'm getting that panic!!!

I have just checked that there is plenty of tape on the tops of the boxes obviously, but would anyone who has been through this recommend taping the bottom of the boxes too? Is it really necessary? Might seem a silly question but you know how you start to worry about things!

Also, any thoughts on insurance with self pack boxes. Any experiences / advice gratefully received.

You are all wonderful!!!!

Tape along all the edges - then nothing can get caught under the flaps, and yes, several strips of tape across the top and the bottom.
Happy packing (oh the memories of this week last year!!)

Wont the bottom of the box fall through with no tape holding it?

Hi Paul and Kath

I am lucky enough to have an aunt who works for a courier company, who sent our goods at cost, and they recommended rather than folding the bottoms in on themselves (if this makes sense) as apparently it weakens the boxes but rather just fold them vertically and horizontally and then tape them very well. I wouldn't worry too much if you have already done it the other way though, as I am sure this is how most people do it.

Believe it or not, you will look back fondly on the packing bit (well, I do)

Good luck
