Hi, we are looking at our daughter going to TAFE college in Perth, she sits her GCSE's here in May 06, once they are done we should be ready to go (visa pending of course!!) does anyone know how the TAFE thing works, should she do a year more of schooling in Oz first or go straight to college?

As to whether or not she should do a year more of schooling first - well, that'll depend on what she's aiming for at TAFE.

Oh right, she is working thur , fri, eve & saturdays in a hairdressers, where they are giving her lots of training, they are hoping to send her to college next year. But her heart is in sport, she wants to be a sports teacher, her love for swimming and PE at school is what she is good at, she is going to do life saving etc prior to going to Perth too. What are the possibilities for sports there?

hi, if you do a search on google for 'western australia tafe' the site should come up. i think it is the central tafe which has most of the sport courses. you can do a search on the courses and the locations they run at will be listed. when i enquired for my son who has just finished his GCSE's here they were quite happy to accept him on most of the courses no problem. good luck. selina.

Thanks for the info. I have just been on the websites and emailed TAFE college in Fremantle,fingers crossed, its great that they offer so many different courses, may even try one out for me!!
