At the end of the day any landlord will base the rent on what they have to pay, so a tenant always pays these charges.

It's no biggy - about $68 every 3 months on top of the usage.

In NSW the Landlord does, see link, so if you have paid for yours then 'youv'e been done like a kipper mate'!! But I note you are in SA so maybe the tenancy rules are different. Worth checking your state Tenants website though to find out...might be a handy little rebate coming your way! :)

Yeah...I find it bizarre how all the States vary, doesn't seem logical to me but then again neither are some of the Federal policies :)

I know water charges are in mine as it's written in the lease but don't think it's standard. I guess if it wasn't the rent would be $10 week higher :sneaky:

Yes, I think the purpose of the discussion was for OP to establish what is on top of rent..
