Unless I misread it they're referring to population though, not property prices. Sounds unpleasent...

That is correct, it is all about the expected population boom.

Article is from the 'property' section of news.com. No more needs to be said.

Sydney suburbs ready to go boom
By Joe Hildebrand From: The Daily Telegraph April 06, 2010 1:18am

The population of NSW is set to boom

SOME Sydney suburbs will have their populations double or even quadruple in just 25 years, official NSW documents reveal, as the city hurtles towards a population of six million people by 2036.

I read the article. Typical spruik to get people to buy property. Scaremongering. Why wasn't it in the business section?

Anyway, I'm surprised you 'winked' () at the prospect of Sydney booming in population. Wouldn't that affect people's quality of life in an already jam packed city? Perhaps you have some investment property there as I can't see how this is good for anyone.

A city is jam packed when people ride on the trains rather than in them.

Sydney has a way to go yet.

But that is how your train system in India looks like already !
Surely it will only look worse there in 2035 ?

Camden and Liverpool are quite low-density suburbs as it is - home of the inefficient sprawl.
