Europes better then OZ ?. you don't see unemployed people rioting on the streets in OZ like in Greece. Europe is on the verge of bankruptcy and in deep recession while the OZ economy is booming , try getting a job in Spain or Greece or one of those European countries with 20% 25% unemployment, in OZ its only around 5%. OZ is better then Europe. We speak English and drive on the correct side of the road.

I wonder if you can get Stella or Becks on tap in Vancouver, I'm genuinely curious about that.

Melbourne usually ranks in the top 5 for this survey - it's sad to see it plummet so far down, not surprising, just sad.

I know plenty of people here without a job, who struggle and who are very unhappy.
And to top it off, even with its “deep recession” as you call it, its cities still come out on top of Australia for quality of life. Mad isn’t it!
The study still puts European cities in the top

Wow. How stereotypical. It depends where you live in regards to temperatures. Vancouver, for example has wet and mild temperatures like the UK whereas the prairies do have cold and long winters. Don't stereotype a country that is a LOT bigger than Australia in terms of climate- it varies a lot.

These kinds of rankings are just useful for informing your opinion but the rest is up to the individual to like what he/she likes! Saying a city is 'better' or 'worse' will depend on your own experiences.

Wow, a few clustered Deutsch-speaking countries representing a whole continent of 27 member nations!
And did you realize EU has 500 million people compared to AU's 22 million? Apparently AU didn't do bad on a per-capita basis.
May I just add as well, that according to the UN Human Development Index, Australia is only beaten by Norway in the rankings. Norway is by the way just a small portion of Europe.
