Sydney to Melbourne road trip stopover suggestions
Hi all
I'm travelling from Sydney to Melbourne by car with my very young family (one is 3 years and two are four months) and are looking to break the journey and make the stop overs more part of the holiday, so we're looking for interesting things to see or do along the way. Any suggestions on two or three places where we could stop? We'll be doing the scenic route one way and motorway the other.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Going south:
Bulli tops (the view)
Kiama (the blowhole)
Berry (the cafes and shops)
Pretty Beach (the parrots and kangaroos on the beach)
Batemans Bay (good place to stay overnight)
Central Tilba (the cute town)
Merimbula (another good place to stay overnight)
Eden (the whales)
Mallacoota (another cute town)
Metung (the lakes)
Going north, I'd leave the Victorian section to the Victorians to advise, but you're a bit limited distraction-wise in NSW. There's always Canberra, of course, which is definitely worth stopping at for a couple of days. Also a great cafe/place for lunch in tiny Jugiong, which is just before Yass.
